There are so many new trends for Spring 2016 and I cannot wait to try them all. I picked the top and my favourite trends and made them into a lookbook. I also used clothing that I already had at home. I also suggest that everyone use what they already have in order not to spend too much money on trends. Let’s get to the looks.
Look 1: Serenity Denim
All over denim is in this spring. You could wear denim all over; trousers and tops or you could also choose to wear dresses with a lighter wash as I have. This dress is also nice as it incorporates lace-like details in the collar. It also has polka-dots in the 2016 pantone shade serenity which is a pastel blue shade (Dress: Palette.) For shoes I used a pair of black plimsolls with white heels from D&C.
Look 2: Different Stripes
Stripes are also trending for spring 2016. Not the typical types of stripes but unique patterned stripes. Stripes laid in different directions, different widths and in varying colours. The dress I used I have had a long time. The stripes are in red and white, a very strong and colourful look for stripes, great for spring and summer! I kept the accessories muted in a nude shade. The sandals are form D&C and the half-moon shaped small handbag is from Primark. The dress in from a blogshop but I don’t remember where it is from since I have had this dress for such a long time.
Look 3: 70s Victorian
The 70s are still here to stay this spring and summer. So I used a 70s silhouette, an A-line shirt dress with a collar tied at the waist. Ties around the waist, the neck and things that can be tied in general are on trend for now. The paper bag waist seems to be the most worn. So this outfit just has a little hint of that as well. Victorian details such as florals and ruffles are also in. For this look I incorporated the florals you would find on victorian prints (Dress: Of. Touch. Fashion.) For shoes I used the same sandals from look 2 in a nude shade since the dress was pretty colourful. The bag is a backpack which is part of 2016’s bag trend. This is from Jane Shelton.
Look 4: Rose Quartz
The shade of the dress is rose quartz, another pantone 2016 colour. This pastel blush shade is very feminine and easy to incorporate into all spring looks. This is a very simple way to dress up for a date. I used black accessories. The sandals are from D&C the bag is vintage Orofino.
Look 5: Pleated Skirt
Pleats, small, tiny pleats are in for spring summer 2016, especially for skirts. I chose a black shade that goes well with many colours. For the top I used a blush pink, Rose quartz shade that brightens any complexion and feels like spring. Both the skirt and top are from pop up stores in Bugis and Tampines (Singapore.) I used the same black sandals from D&C in look 4 and used a sling bag from Primark.
Look 6: Shimmering Splendid
Shimmery, shiny, sparkly things are in this spring 2016. Sequins, and embellished shiny materials are in. I can’t believe it. I rarely use such things but it is always fun to try. I used a black bodycon dress with gold print from Something Borrowed. To give it a more rocker vibe which suits my style better I used a faux black leather jacket from New Look. I used a pleather clutch handbag from Andre Puccini and embellished shoes which are also a shoe trend for 2016. The shoes are from Spurr. This is a definite go to for a girl’s night out!
Look 7: Wide-legged Pants
Another 2016 Spring trend is the wide-legged pant. My pants in blue are from a pop up store in Ang Mo Kio (Singapore). To match the spring vibe I used a long -sleeved pastel blue blouse from Zara. I liked how this all-covered look was very comfortable yet lady-like. You could wear flats or wedges. I chose a bejewelled flat sandal that gives some colour to the whole outfit. My nude shaded bag is from Malaysia. This is a good look for a creative line of work.
Look 8: Cold Shoulders
Uncovered shoulders are in for spring. You can show them off totally or in varying ways. I chose to use something that shows off my shoulders totally from Asos. I paired the crop top with a floral high waist skirt. The dark burgundy shade of the top is countered with the black and white from the skirt. I used some black sneakers/trainers from New Look. This made the look a lot more casual.
Look 9: Pretty Plaid
This final look was a beautiful dress that had plaid in its design. Plaid is also part of 2016’s spring trend patterns. But not in the typical shades and also in a larger design. So this dress from Topshop which is a pale blue is very appealing and on trend. I used a pastel turquoise sandal type thick heel from Zara.
That’s it for now. I hope you enjoy this look book and get some ideas on what to wear for spring.
